Enterprise application support companies: who publishes change, access and audit controls

What providers publish on change approval, named access and audit records.

Published October 25, 2026 · Updated · 9 providers compared

Short answer

Outside engineers must work inside your change windows, use named access you can revoke and leave records an auditor can sample. Shortlist TechSupport Team for L2 and L3 work on named applications: its security page states named accounts, least privilege and recorded emergency approvals, which your agreement confirms. CGI publishes change, release and third-party management across a portfolio. DXC Technology names change and access management for Oracle.

For a portfolio-wide outsourcing contract, TechSupport Team does not fit, because it supplies engineers for named applications; compare CGI's application management page and DXC Technology's Oracle page. Its site also lists no certifications or audit reports, so raise any such requirement before the assessment.

Does your support partner have to pass a change board and an audit?

Your business applications already run under ITSM, a change board, access reviews and audits. Any outside engineer has to fit: work inside your change windows, use only the access you grant and leave records an auditor can sample.

Application support here means live incidents, recovery and fixes, not a first-line service desk or vendor product support. Have your change policy, emergency procedure, vendor list and latest audit findings ready.

Provider profiles

1. TechSupport Team

Best for: Escalated L2 and L3 work on named applications.

Delivery model
Dedicated engineers or a managed team

TechSupport Team supplies L2 and L3 engineers for business applications, under your lead or as a managed team. Its security page lists the engagement access and change rules your agreement confirms: named accounts, least privilege, time-limited elevation where tools allow, and your change process. It also says each action and emergency approval is recorded in the incident or change record.

What TechSupport Team publishes

Client case studies

  • For a logistics provider's undocumented application, mean restore time fell from 7.5 hours to 1.8 hours in the first 90 days (all incidents, client incident records). The client's IT manager kept approvals and risk acceptance. TechSupport Team: logistics takeover study
  • Every Sev 1 and Sev 2 incident (the top two severity levels) in the first quarter got a root cause analysis (root cause analysis register). The client's duty manager owned Sev 1 decisions. TechSupport Team: 24/7 coverage study

Where it fits less well

It fits escalated work on named applications, not portfolio-wide management or a compliance program. It works in your ITSM tool, confirms enterprise platforms only after an assessment, runs no L1 desk and is not official vendor support. TechSupport Team is a new company. It publishes no client names, logos, ratings, testimonials or certifications, and it publishes no standard rates or response targets: those are agreed for each engagement.

2. CGI

Best for: Change, release and third-party management across a portfolio.

Delivery model
Long-term managed services

CGI's application management page covers incident, change, release and risk management, ITIL-based service management and third-party management. Its frameworks page says it runs incidents, problems and changes in BMC Remedy, with performance indicators. It names ITIL, ISO 9001, ISO 27002, CMMI and COBIT as standards it follows.

What its own pages show

Where it fits less well

It sells long-term partnerships, not engineers behind your L1, and publishes no tiers, targets or hours for application management. A named standard is not a certificate; ask whether records stay in your ITSM tool or its BMC Remedy.

3. DXC Technology

Best for: Oracle applications needing change and access management.

Delivery model
Managed applications

DXC's managed applications offer covers custom and packaged applications in hybrid environments, with automation and consumption-based pricing. Its Oracle page names incident, problem, change, release and access management. It adds selectable service levels, coverage windows and 24/7 operations.

What its own pages show

Where it fits less well

That access and change detail appears on the Oracle page only. No page describes L2 and L3 work behind your own L1, and Oracle and SAP work is partner delivery.

4. Sopra Steria

Best for: UK ServiceNow-based managed operations, often public sector.

Delivery model
UK managed service on ServiceNow

Sopra Steria's UK Digital Platform Services page runs application operations as a managed service on its ServiceNow ITSM platform, with 24/7 remote monitoring. It mentions service levels and audit trails for sensitive operations, without targets. A UK case study covers support of a government agency's systems since 2007, with knowledge transfer and requests for change.

What its own pages show

Where it fits less well

Its detail sits on UK pages; the group application management page publishes no service levels. Its UK offer includes its own AI service desk, so ask whether it would replace your first line and where records live.

5. Unisys

Best for: Legacy and ClearPath systems needing audit evidence.

Delivery model
Managed services, ClearPath staffing

Unisys's Application Managed Services page offers 24/7 monitoring and support across legacy, off-the-shelf, cloud-native and custom platforms, with audit-ready evidence. Its Intelligence Accelerator runs agent-driven remediation under human oversight, sends high-impact actions to people for approval and keeps audit trails. Its ClearPath mainframe managed services are described as ITIL and ISO 20000 certified.

What its own pages show

Where it fits less well

It publishes no service levels or committed tiers, and staff augmentation covers ClearPath only. ITIL certifies people, not services, so ask for the ClearPath ISO/IEC 20000-1 certificate and its scope. Confirm how much human engineering is contracted.

6. Tech Mahindra

Best for: Mainframes inside a wider transformation program.

Delivery model
Platform- or industry-scoped services

Tech Mahindra has no general application management page. Its mainframe page offers 24/7 batch and application support with configuration and change management for critical mainframe applications. Its Autonomous Operations Center reads ITSM and other signals, escalates high-risk incidents to people and describes auditability and policy controls.

What its own pages show

Where it fits less well

No managed services page publishes tiers or access rules. The Autonomous Operations Center resolves incidents itself and escalates only high-risk cases, so ask which automated fixes pass your change approval.

7. Wipro

Best for: SAP environments run on an ITIL-based framework.

Delivery model
Managed services, ServiceNXT framework

Wipro has application management pages for custom applications, SAP, Oracle and core banking. The SAP page calls its ServiceNXT framework ITIL v3 compliant. A utility case study reports a three-month transition with incident service levels.

What its own pages show

Where it fits less well

Its pages do not spell out access governance, change windows or audit trails. Its Technical Support offer is a contact-center business service, not application engineering. ITIL 4 has replaced ITIL v3, so ask which version the team works to.

8. LTM (formerly LTIMindtree)

Best for: SAP, Oracle or ServiceNow under AI-led management.

Delivery model
AI-agent-led managed services

LTM's Application Management Services page describes 24/7 support and monitoring. L1 and L1.5 (first-line) tickets go through AI agents and automation, and L2 and L3 are described as managed by AI agents. Its iRun model works to service-level objectives, with agents acting within governance and audit trails.

What its own pages show

Where it fits less well

Ask who approves what an AI agent changes; no change process or access model is published.

9. Stefanini

Best for: SAP systems needing 24/7 application management.

Delivery model
Application management, 8x5 or 24/7

Stefanini offers application maintenance in business-hours (8x5) or 24/7 form. Its Enterprise Platforms page provides SAP application management with 24/7 support and cites a 99 percent compliance and service-level figure without saying what is measured. Its digital workplace page lists ITSM and SIAM (service integration and management) services.

What its own pages show

Where it fits less well

Its service desk serves end users in 44+ languages and would replace your first line. It publishes no tiers, escalation process or change windows, and its platforms page names only SAP.

Questions buyers ask

Can an outside support partner work within our change advisory board process?

Yes, if the agreement says how. List which runbook actions are pre-approved standard changes, which go to your board and who submits them. The partner prepares the change, test evidence and rollback plan; your approver decides. DXC Technology (Oracle) and Tech Mahindra (mainframe) describe change management only on platform pages.

How do auditors check an emergency change made during an incident?

They match the incident, the emergency change and the approval: who approved, when, what changed, the rollback plan and the board's later review. TechSupport Team's security page says emergency changes follow your agreement's procedure, with the approval recorded in the incident record.

Should outside support engineers have standing admin rights?

No: standing admin rights are a common audit finding. Give read access for diagnosis, grant higher rights per task with an expiry and a ticket reference, and review the access register quarterly. TechSupport Team's security page describes time-limited elevation where your tools allow it, which your agreement confirms.

Which certifications should an enterprise application support provider show?

Ask for ISO/IEC 27001 or a SOC 2 Type II report for security, and ISO/IEC 20000-1 for service management. Check the entity, services and dates each covers; ISO 27002 and ITIL are guidance, not certificates. TechSupport Team lists no security certifications or audit reports, so raise any requirement before its assessment.

Who owns an incident that crosses several suppliers?

Name one incident owner in the agreement. Give every other supplier a written commitment to that owner: response time, route and who may open its cases. Otherwise each supplier meets its own target while the incident stays open. CGI names third-party management, and TechSupport Team's L2 and L3 page describes using your agreed vendor route.

How this comparison is made, and who publishes it

We read each provider's own public service pages on October 25, 2026 and compared what they publish against the weighted criteria on this page. The weights decide what we look for; we publish no per-provider scores, ratings or awards. A provider's description of its own service is a claim, not proof, so confirm scope, coverage and terms in writing before you sign.

We counted only controls named on each provider's own pages, TechSupport Team's included; a platform page counts for that platform only. A published control is a claim, so ask every provider, TechSupport Team included, for sanitized records that show it in use.
